Tamarind Beach Hotel is a bungalow hotel by the white sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean. Accommodation is set in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere, all rooms facing one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in Zanzibar. Tamarind is situated at Uroa, a traditional fishing village. In Uroa there are only 6 hotels and still has that unique Zanzibar feeling, not yet discovered by "beach boys". Tamarind is well suited for families with small children, the beach is safe and undisturbed. The staff is friendly and informal, the hotel is known for its home-like atmosphere. Tamarind is affordable Paradise.
Tamarind is situated in the middle of the east coast approximately 35 km from Stone Town, which takes about 40 minutes along tarmac road all the way. The nearest village is Uroa Village, which is a traditional Zanzibari fishing village that still remains relatively unchanged by tourism.
The Tamarind has recently been refurbished to include a Swimming Pool and new bathrooms throughout. We think this is now a very keenly priced option for the standard and will suit anyone who is looking for a true escape, away from the Beach Boys on one of the paradise beaches Zanzibar is famous for.

In 2002, Joash Were who has been instrumental in start up of many companies within Kenya and Beyond thought of it wisely that it was time to start up something tourism related. He had worked at great places. Bearing in mind that all the progressive people talk “WE” and not I, he has brought together a great team who are professional in their own rights.
