Zanzibar island is situated in front of the Tanzania Coast, Central East Africa. The Dongwe Club is located on the East Coast of Zanzibar Island, approximately one hour drive from the airport by minibus.
The Dongwe Club Vacanze is a recent structure, opened in 1997, surrounded by a delightful garden which slopes gently down to an endless white beach.
76 Afro-colonial style brick-work bungalows comprising 72 standard rooms and 4 suites. Each room has a large canopied double bed with mosquito net and a third bed may be added if required.
All the rooms are very spacious with a comfortable veranda.
The beautifully furnished restaurant located in the main building is pleasantly breezed by an original architectural design of glasses walls that create an efficacious ventilation system. It offers excellent cuisine including a large variety of local, international and Italian dishes. To delight the palate the buffet offers a fine selection of delicious roasts and a wide choice of grilled fish and meat.
Buffet service for breakfast and lunch, while dinner is served at table. Soft drinks, mineral water, beer, cold tea and both espresso and American-style coffee are served free of charge during meals. Extras such as wine, liqueurs and champagne are available on request. After dinner the Club Vacanze animation staff will invite you to share its soft entertainment with cabaret, theme parties, fancy dress party, piano or guitar bar, DVD cinema, games and tournaments.
Kids of all ages are welcome but no specialized assistance is provided for children under 6 years.
For children from 6 to 10 we guarantee assistance at fixed hours during the day, organizing games and recreational activities for our young guests.

A Wellness Center is available for our Guests.
The Center offers a health and beauty treatments (local or therapeutic massage-spice massage-stone therapy-relaxing therapy)that can be booked and paid for on the spot.
In 2002, Joash Were who has been instrumental in start up of many companies within Kenya and Beyond thought of it wisely that it was time to start up something tourism related. He had worked at great places. Bearing in mind that all the progressive people talk “WE” and not I, he has brought together a great team who are professional in their own rights.
