Mweya Safari Lodge offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Located on a peninsula within the heart of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Mweya Safari Lodge is surrounded by the magical Rwenzori Mountains aptly described as the ',Mountains of the Moon',. To the east, lie the guardians of the birthplace of mankind, the Great Rift Valley hills, separated from the Mountains of the Moon by the meandering Kazinga Channel. Here the water flows endlessly into two giant lakes - Lake George and Lake Edward.
From the lodge terrace, it's almost impossible to tell which way the Kazinga Channel is flowing. It actually flows west (to your right) from Lake George to Lake Edward. But since the change is water level along the 36km Channel is just 40cm it moves extremely slowly. The first European visitor to Mweya was Henry Morton Stanley in 1889.
In our standard single, double and twin rooms, you will find a simple safari atmosphere with a level of comfort that will not disappoint. These rooms are perfectly situated to view the picturesque Lakes George and Edward. One can also view the Rwenzori Mountains while sitting on the balcony watching the warthogs graze.
Our Deluxe rooms include everything found in our standard rooms; in addition all our deluxe rooms have superior furnishings and are all air-conditioned. After a long day's safari under the African sun, we invite you back to a cool air-conditioned environment - the ultimate luxury in the wilderness!
The suites are the perfect accommodation for guests who want a little bit more space to relax.
Our suites have a living room with sofas which can be used for relaxation and entertainment. Use the room's mini bar to refresh yourselves after a long day out in the game park.
The Lodge offers four types of luxurious cottages

In 2002, Joash Were who has been instrumental in start up of many companies within Kenya and Beyond thought of it wisely that it was time to start up something tourism related. He had worked at great places. Bearing in mind that all the progressive people talk “WE” and not I, he has brought together a great team who are professional in their own rights.
